At OurHouse, the pool is where some of our favourite moments happen. It’s where babies splash with their parents for the first time, where nervous swimmers find their confidence, and where children proudly move up a stage. We’re looking for a Swim Instructor who wants to be part of those moments every week.


The Role

You’ll teach swimming across every stage, from parent and baby sessions through to Stages 1–7 of the Swim England framework. This isn’t about simply delivering a syllabus. You’ll get to know your swimmers, track their progress and celebrate their milestones, and you’ll make every family’s time in the water feel safe, joyful and well worth coming back for.


You’ll report to the Swim Coordinator, Deputy General Manager and General Manager, and work as part of a close-knit swim team.


What You’ll Do

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons across Stages 1–7, tailored to each swimmer’s ability
  • Lead parent and baby sessions with warmth and confidence
  • Plan lessons that build progressively towards the next stage
  • Correct technique clearly and encouragingly, building confidence as well as skill
  • Keep sessions running on time in a safe, well-organised pool environment
  • Complete attendance and progress records, and work with the Swim Coordinator to flag concerns and keep the programme strong
  • Be a friendly, knowledgeable presence that members look forward to seeing poolside


This Role Will Suit Someone Who

  • Holds an STA or Swim England (ASA) Level 2 teaching qualification
  • Holds a baby and toddler teaching qualification (SEQ Level 2 or STA Level 2 Baby and Pre-School)
  • Loves teaching swimmers of all ages, from babies to confident swimmers
  • Cares about the little details, like a milestone celebrated, a nervous child reassured or a parent kept in the loop
  • Is reliable, takes working with children seriously, and brings great energy to the team
  • Is happy to work across mornings, evenings and weekends
  • Nice to Have - a valid NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification)
